Reiki ("universal life force" in Japanese) is a healing practice used to facilitate the flow of energy to address physical, spiritual, mental, and even financial challenges. Its historical roots lay in Japan and Tibet, primarily through the work of Usui Mikao and his students. It is a non-harmful, alternative practice to helping with various symptoms that bring dis-ease to the mind and body, but should never replace traditional medicine. As a "universal energy", it can be accessed globally, without limitation of time or space in order to bring wellness to recipients in-person or remotely.

Here, you can learn to practice Reiki yourself. More courses will be added

"Mindfulness is a mental activity that in due course eliminates all suffering"

- Ayya Khema

I place a strong value on wellness in my personal life, bringing the mind, spirit, and body together to create overall wellbeing for myself and I enjoy sharing that with others. This wellness spans from weight lifting exercises, functional movement patterns, foot and pelvic alignment, chiropractic care, nutrition, flexibility and lengthening exercises, and meditative/ spiritual practices. As massage therapy, reiki, and doula are all very personal experiences between the practitioner and client, it is important that you're comfortable with whomever you work with. That being said, this can help you get to know me:

As a child, I noted early that I was an empath. I spent years experiencing the confusion of experiencing other's emotions and witnessing how it affected their bodies and spirits.  I was blessed with the opportunity to sit in on a massage for my mother. Seeing a person that I loved who experienced chronic pain every day feel relief for a period of time was inspiring. I chose to study biology throughout high school and college, with the intention of going into a medical career or zoology/ veterinary as the value of a doctorate was emphasized by my family. But it never felt right, and gentle modalities such as massage lingered in the back of my head.

Once I graduated, I married the love of my life and became military spouse, finding ways to optimize my passion for helping others in any way I could. With the birth of our first son less than ideal (please visit Birth Doula page for birth story if you are interested), I quickly went down the path of becoming a doula.

Thankfully, the time that I shared with birthing families reawakened my passion for massage and the benefits of therapeutic touch. With that I enrolled in massage therapy school and continue to further my education in any way that I can.

As I dove into my massage therapy practice, my guides began to reawaken and guide me into my spiritual practice and getting in touch with the spiritual realm. More than just theoretical light, I quickly began to realize how emotions, and blocked energy systems can manifest into physical "dis-ease" as Traditional Chinese Medicine puts it. I noted the relief that clients felt with each emotional release, and the interpersonal work that they could finally accomplish with each chakra alignment. It is never easy work, but it is so meaningful and rewarding.

Which is where you find me now. Blending the biology, Kinesiology, and somatic practices with Reiki energy and light work when a client is called to it. My practice aims to bring each individual the most help that I can on their journey. Whether that is aiding in corrections to postural deviations and lengthening muscles that are overworked during exercise or day-to-day habits, or aiding in the unblocking the energetic pathways that shut down during an unremembered traumatic experience in childhood. The goals we make together are practical, functional, and long lasting. An "East meets West" approach to bring balance and relief, as well as building healthy body and mind practices so that you don't "need" bodywork or energy work, but can utilize it as a complimentary tool to your life.
